Dr. Thompson is a psychologist who has worked with New Mindful Life since it’s founding. She possesses a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is also a certified biofeedback practitioner. Megan is trained in health psychology with specific expertise in behavioral and mindfulness based therapies. Her primary practice includes the delivery of these therapies to adults, children, and families.
Her study and practice of mindfulness began in her graduate training at Alliant International University where she was introduced to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and other Mindfulness based therapies such as MBCT, ACT, and DBT. Over the years she has refined her professional interest in mindfulness through trainings in MBSR, ACT, Mindfulness Based Pregnancy and Childbirth, and Mindfulness for Clinicians trainings. She has cultivated her personal practice of mindfulness through retreats, MBSR classes and study under Dr. Calvert.
Megan offers individual, couples, family and child therapy in addition to teaching groups and pairs in several of our course offerings. In particular, Dr. Thompson specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress-related illnesses, general stress reduction, child behavior and parenting issues, hoarding disorder, OCD, goal setting, behavior change, organization and clutter reduction.
