My first experience with meditation occurred at age 14 during an organized, worldwide shared moment of sitting and focusing on peace. My meditation practice involves sitting and focusing on breathing, being present with nature, watching animal behavior, walking, feeling poetry, and deeply listening to friends. As a member of New Mindful Life, I will be guiding two meditation sessions with the community. One is a meditation and poetry class, and the other an experience of deep listening (to both your internal reactions and the outward speaker). A synergy is created when we come together as a group. It is in the same moment an individual experience, and one that allows you to bear witness for one another. Holding the space for each other creates a deep sense of community and belonging that supports and nurtures you. You can feel yourself ground more deeply. You are safe to go inward, and there will be a guide should you have questions. Ultimately, I believe creating peace in each of us is a way that we can change the world together. We are holding a space for you at New Mindful Life; come join us!
