Biofeedback is a treatment modality which incorporates non-invasive equipment attached to the outside of your body to detect internal changes and give you feedback about the processes of your nervous system. Through this feedback, you can learn to bring your nervous system into a more balanced, calm state and recognize when you are in a state of stress or imbalance.
Biofeedback practitioners are trained to provide treatment for a variety of physical and psychological conditions. Research has shown biofeedback to be helpful in treating a variety of conditions including: migraine, chronic stress, irritable bowel syndrome, ADHD, hypertension, insomnia, fibromyalgia, tinnitus, asthma, anxiety, PTSD, and others.
Biofeedback may be used as an adjunct to traditional therapy, to mindfulness training, or as a treatment alone.
At New Mindful Life, our emphasis is on the utilization of biofeedback to supplement and support your therapeutic process and meditation training. Your biofeedback practitioner can utilize biofeedback equipment to help refine your meditative focus as well as offering additional mindful and breathing practices.
