Description
Trauma is a very common experience and its suggested that up to 70% of people living in the USA have struggled with trauma at some point in their lifetime. Symptoms of trauma can include avoidance, negative mood states, agitation, restlessness, emotional reactivity, dissociative symptoms, being incapable of acting, immobilized with fear or anxiety.
This workshop will offer somatic mindfulness in nature practices that will support your healing and increase your consciousness to heal the challenges or trauma’s in your life. We learn through mindfulness, somatic healing, and nature how to develop healthy ways of caring for ourselves and restoring our body, mind, and heart to wholeness. You will learn practices to integrate into life that will support you on your healing journey.
Timeline / Outline of the event:
10 – Arrive, settle in, Introductions, nature mindfulness, and somatic practice
10 – 11:30 – Teaching and practices on somatic mindfulness meditation practices in nature and how this supports healing trauma
11:30 – 12 – Community connection and integrate practices learned/journaling options
12 – 12:30 – Closing, offering on-going support
*Materials on topics discussed will be provided, and opportunities for journaling will be available throughout the workshop. Somatic mindfulness nature practices will be both seated and movement based.
